What I Saw On The FloorI sat at my window, the darkness of the outside world's natural night contrasting with the artificial glare of the bulb hanging from the ceiling. The strange light caused my eyes to flicker and falter, and combined with my extreme exhaustion my vision was verging on blindness. Yet I swore I saw it, bouncing across the black lines on the faux-marble floor, disappearing every time it collided with the grey striped white plastic. I gazed at the same spot in which it had appeared, willing the creature to reappear, to verify my sanity. My eyelids drooped and I began to see flickers of light all over the floor.
